Quick Tip: Drink Red

If you're a wine drinker, go with red. As plenty of new research has come out, the benefits of red wine can raise HDL (good cholesterol), lower LDL (bad cholesterol), and lessen the risks of heart attacks. Red wine may also help prevent blood clots and reduce the blood vessel damage caused by fat deposits. This is due to the high level of antioxidents in red wine; particularly resveratrol and the flavonoids. In fact, studies showed that people from the Mediterranean region who regularly drank red wine have lower risks of heart disease. So with that said, Cheers!

  1. Stef ... sources! Good quick-hit entry but tell me where you got this info. Also, link to explanations of "resveratol" and "flavonoids" ... are you sure you didn't just make up those words? (I'm joking about that but not about the sources and the linking.)

Just like good reporting, good blogging should provide sources and attribution because it provides credibility.

    Best,
